FinCap is pleased to announce Ruth Smithers has been appointed as Chief Executive.
Ruth is an experienced leader and senior manager in the not for profit and government sectors in health and social services organisations.
Her most recent role was as Deputy Chief Executive at Tui Ora, a large iwi-based health and social services provider in Taranaki where she worked for more than five years.
She has run her own management consultancy company over many years between permanent roles and serves on a number of boards.
“We were impressed with Ruth’s skills including strategic, operational and change management, stakeholder relationships, kaupapa Māori and commissioning and contracting,” says Board Chair Susan Kosmala.
Ruth has a passion for community-based services, advocating for and building capability to assist people to greater wellbeing.
She has an MBA with distinction from Massey University and was recognised by the Institute of Directors as the first recipient in the State Sector of their Future Directors programme.
Ruth commences her role on 26 January 2021.
