FinCap welcomes the opportunity to comment on the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) Review of the Approved Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme Rules Discussion Paper (Discussion Paper).
Without access to a free, accessible, and fair financial dispute resolution scheme many people, whānau and communities, particularly those facing hardship have little hope of getting a fair outcome when a financial service is causing harm. Cost alone often makes taking action through already intimidating formal legal processes impossible.
